Intro to Newspaper Design

1.  "Málaga Hoy," the name Málaga is a city in Spain and "Hoy" means  today.

4. " Un estudio halla dos genes ligados al trastorno bipolar"or in english, "Study finds two genes linked to bipolar disorder" - I think that its an interesting topic, thats why I chose it.

5. There are six stories.

6. The main story has bigger and bolder letters and it also has the biggest picture.

7. The things that vary on different newspapers are the way they layout their stories.

Newspaper Notes

• Two sizes of newspaper
• "broadsheet" a type of newspaper is tall and folds in the middle, The Eagle's Eye 
• "tabloid" more squared, The Chronicle is a type of tabloid
• photos, headlines, sub-headlines, story, date, captions, teasers
• jumps, are in the front page telling you to continue the story in a different page
• lines are part of layout
• "Flag" is the name of the newspaper
• "folio" reference information
• headlines are complete sentences
• attention grabbers/captions basic parts of any newspaper page
• "by line" is the name and title of the writer
• a "stop" tells you when the story ends
• kickers are tags about the articles 
• info graphic- a graphic that gives you information
